Brachiator © Alex Ries 2007

This one-meter tall brachiating life-form hails from a planet with a large band of thick jungle bordering its equator.

Though it can eat some vegetable matter it is mainly predatory, and its bony sideways-opening mouth conceals hundreds of gripping teeth which hold prey while tearing jaws in its throat rip of huge chunks of flesh. Two smell organs flick from its lower snout and large pits in its face conceal infrared and visual sensors, which see well in the low light of the forest understory. Two orifices near the back of its neck allow it to breath without suffocating while it feeds.
